Indonesia and Thailand strengthen strategic partnership

The signing of documents on partnership between Indonesia and Thailand is one of the concrete outcomes of Prime Minister Anutin's official visit to Indonesia.

 

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister(PM) Anutin Charnvirakul witnessed the signing of several cooperation documents between Indonesia and Thailand at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (Aug. 3).

In a joint press statement, President Prabowo emphasized that the bilateral meeting resulted in several concrete achievements expected to strengthen relations between the two countries in the future.

In addition to government-to-government cooperation, the president also welcomed the commitment of the private sector to expand collaboration between the two countries.

"We also welcome the commitment to cooperation and investment from the private sector, namely the MoU (memorandum of understanding) between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Indonesian airline TransNusa in the fields of tourism and connectivity. The MoU between Bio-Axel and Pro-Konsilium regarding the organic waste processing project," the president said.

The Head of State also expressed his appreciation for PM Anutin's official visit and expressed optimism for the future of the increasingly close relationship between Indonesia and Thailand.

"Your Excellency, Prime Minister Anutin, once again, I thank you for your visit and for our shared commitment to strengthening relations between our two countries," the president said.

He is confident that Indonesia and Thailand will continue to ensure that this strategic partnership will bring concrete benefits to the prosperity of the people of both countries.

The presentation of this document is one of the concrete outcomes of PM Anutin's official visit to Indonesia and affirms the commitment of both countries to strengthening their strategic partnership in various fields.

The first document presented to President Prabowo and PM Anutin was the Roadmap on Strategic Partnership Between Indonesia and Thailand 2026–2030 by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

This document serves as a joint guideline for both countries in strengthening their strategic partnership over the next five years.

Likewie, Indonesian Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti and Thai Minister of Education Prasert Jantararuangtong presented an MoU on Cooperation in Education between the two countries.

The MoU forms the foundation for cooperation between the two countries in developing the education sector and improving the quality of human resources.

The exchange of several MoUs symbolizes the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Thailand, which focuses not only on government-to-government relations but also encourages collaboration in education, investment, tourism, and sustainable development to provide concrete benefits to the people of both countries.
