Halal Expo Indonesia 2023 which is held in Jakarta on October 25-29 is a place and opportunity to introduce Indonesian and Iranian halal cultures and products to people.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, has said that Halal Expo Indonesia (HEI) 2023 which is held in Jakarta on October 25-29 is a place and opportunity to introduce Indonesian and Iranian halal cultures and products to people.

"Islamic exhibitions, trade exhibitions and sharia economic exhibitions are a very good approach to introduce Islam and sharia to the public, and Iran as a friend of Indonesia will continue to participate in such events," Ambassador Boroujerdi said in an interview with Indonesia Window on the sidelines of HEI 2023 here on Thursday (Oct. 26).

The Iranian Ambassador also emphasized that exhibitions that introduce Islam and Islamic sharia such as HEI are very important. The presence of Indonesian Vice President K.H. Ma'ruf Amin HEI showed that the exhibition is important.

The vice president officially opened HEI in the company of a number of ministers, government officials, ambassadors of fellow countries, religious figures, and businesspeople.

This year’s HEI is collaborating with the 10th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) held by Indonesia’s central bank of Bank Indonesia, under the theme 'Accelerating Sharia Economy and Finance Through Digitalization for Inclusive and Sustainable Growth'.

Ambassador Boroujerdi hoped that the implementation of ISEF and HEI be more and more developed from year to year, in order to introduce Islamic sharia and its applications, especially in the fields of economics, finance and trade, to the public.

He also invited Indonesian businesspeople to establish trade relations and build cooperation with their Iranian partners, through similar events held in his country.

“We are the Islamic Republic of Iran whose all products in the markets are halal (permissible for consumption) and comply with the Islamic laws. "Exhibitions related to Islam, the Quran and other cultural products are held throughout the year in Iran, such as during the holy month of Ramadan," he explained.

Ambassador Boroujerdi admitted that he liked all Indonesian products. “Indonesia is my second homeland. I am happy with all Indonesian products. "For food, I like fried rice, and batik," he said.

However, he continued, "of all the things I like about Indonesia, I really like the people who are very friendly and kind," the ambassador said.
