Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia received five million doses of ready-to-use COVID-19 vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang district, Banten province, on Monday (Aug. 23), which is the 42nd stage of delivery of the all vaccines arrived in the country.

Thus, Indonesia has so far had more than 200 million doses of vaccines both in finished products and in bulk from some producers.

"We should be grateful that Indonesia is one of the countries that has succeeded in securing vaccine stocks to protect our families," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance Heru Pambudi at a virtual press conference on Monday.

So far, 57 million Indonesians have been vaccinated, with 31 million of them have received two jabs.

In order to control the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government has given the highest priority of the national budget for the provision of vaccines and other supporting necessities.

The Indonesian Ministry of Finance has allocated a budget of 57.75 trillion rupiahs (some 4.01 billion U.S. dollars) for vaccination, which is one of the key efforts to accelerate economic recovery.
