
US-ASEAN Business Council appreciates Indonesian president’s leadership

The US-ASEAN Business Council delegation also expressed their gratitude for the ease of doing business provided by the Indonesian government, so that their businesses in the archipelago can continue to run despite conditions of global uncertainty due to the pandemic.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The US-ASEAN Business Council delegation appreciated the leadership of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia said here on Wednesday."In general, they thanked President Jokowi for his leadership in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic," Bahlil said in a press statement after accompanying the president at the meeting with the delegation.According Bahlil, the delegates also expressed their gratitude for the ease of doing business provided by the Indonesian government, so that their businesses in the archipelago can continue to run despite conditions of global uncertainty due to the pandemic.“This is evidenced among others by our economic growth which is 5.4 percent and inflation which is below 5 percent. On average, they all appreciate the leadership of the president, even though we know that in global conditions, the global economy is also not very good," Bahlil noted.At the meeting, the president also invited the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council delegates to invest in the sectors of energy and green industries, which are currently the focus of the Indonesian government, in addition to other fields such as those of health and digital.“The president also invited them to enter Indonesia. Indonesia is now entering the sectors of green energy and green industry.
