Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian Manpower Minister Yassierli has affirmed his country's commitment to strengthening cooperation on manpower and human resource development with Azerbaijan, particularly through enhancing vocational training and improving workforce competencies.
The Minister conveyed this commitment while attending the 108th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jakarta on Thursday (May 21).
On the occasion, Minister Yassierli congratulated the people and government of Azerbaijan and expressed his appreciation for the bilateral relations between the two countries, which have continued to develop since their establishment in 1992.
"For more than three decades, relations between Indonesia and Azerbaijan have continued to grow positively in various strategic sectors, driven by a spirit of cooperation for shared development and prosperity," Yassierli said.
According to the minister, strengthening relations between the two countries needs to continue to be directed towards more concrete cooperation oriented towards improving the quality of human resources, in line with the dynamics of the global economy and the rapidly changing needs of the workforce.
In this context, the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on employment between Indonesia and Azerbaijan is deemed crucial and needs to be continuously strengthened through collaboration in the areas of job skills development, vocational education and training, youth talent development, and enhancing the employment social security system.
"Indonesia welcomes the opportunity for closer collaboration with Azerbaijan, particularly in job skills development, vocational training, and expanding employment opportunities for the younger generation," he said.
In addition to bilateral cooperation, Yassierli also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two countries in various international forums, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement.
In line with this, he continued, Indonesia is also committed to strengthening inclusive economic cooperation with Azerbaijan through the Developing Eight (D-8) forum, which Indonesia currently chairs.
"We hope this friendly relationship will continue to be strengthened through concrete cooperation, exchange of expertise, and inter-institutional collaboration that will directly benefit both countries," he concluded.
