Al-Hamidiyah boarding school explores synergy with Turkish cultural attaché

Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School has a vision that is closely aligned with the direction of Turkish education, particularly in the integration of religious knowledge and science, and character building for the younger generation.

 

Bogor, West Java (Indonesia Window) – The scope for Islamic boarding schools is expanding, entering the global arena as shown by Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School, which is exploring cultural and educational collaboration with Turkiye, including strengthening access to international studies for its students.

 The planned collaboration was discussed by the Head of Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School, Prof. Dr. KH Oman Fathurahman, during a visit by the Turkish Cultural Attaché, Dr. Cemal Sahin, in Indonesia's Depok City, West Java Province, on Thursday (April 9), the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs stated on its website, as quoted by Indonesia Window on Monday.

 Cemal Sahin emphasized the Turkish Government's commitment to continuing to strengthen relations with educational institutions in Indonesia, particularly those focused on the integration of religious knowledge and science.

 According to him, the Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School's vision aligns with the direction of Turkish education, particularly in strengthening the integration of science, Islamic values, and character building for the younger generation.

 "Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School has a vision that is very much aligned with the direction of Turkish education, particularly in integrating religious knowledge and science, and character building for the younger generation," Cemal Sahin said.

 He also explained various opportunities for collaboration, ranging from university scholarship programs, summer schools, to immersion programs in Turkish schools.

 Furthermore, strengthening the Turkish language is seen as a strategic pathway for students to gain access to further studies at Turkish universities.

 Welcoming the opportunity, Prof. Dr. K.H. Oman Fathurahman said this collaboration is part of the Islamic boarding school's efforts to expand its international network and open global horizons for its students (locally known as santri in Indonesia’s boarding schools).

 "This collaboration is expected to bridge students' access to global educational opportunities, particularly through language programs, scholarships, and cultural exchanges with Turkiye," Prof. Oman said.

 As a follow-up, Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School will develop a Turkish cultural program, Turkey Corner, and integrate the Santri KITAB and STEAMMI values ​​into the school's internationalization agenda.

 In addition, exploration of relations with the Turkish cultural center in the Bintaro will soon be formulated as a collaborative program.

 Bintaro is an area located between South Jakarta (capita city Jakarta) and South Tangerang (Banten Province)

 Prof. Oman said the meeting is expected to be a productive start to building sustainable global educational collaborations. With the increasingly close relationship with the Turkish government, Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School is optimistic that it can provide new opportunities for students in the areas of language, culture, and access to international education.
