Steve Forbes: Prabowo's leadership inspiring, Indonesia to be global power

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media, expressed his appreciation for leadership of Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, during a meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.In his view, President Prabowo's strategic steps in promoting economic reform, deregulation, and strengthening strategic sectors are an important foundation for Indonesia's position as a global power, according to the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat in a statement on its website, as quoted by Indonesia Window on Thursday."This is a kind of focus of leadership that want to be observed in any country, and we see it in Indonesia today. So, we're optimistic, and sometimes it takes outsiders to recognize the good things that are happening, more than those who experience them every day," Forbes told the media after the meeting.Forbes also saw that leadership of Indonesian President is bringing a breath of fresh air in creating a more conducive business climate, through among other things deregulation efforts, increased agricultural production, and the eradication of corruption.According to him, these steps are key to Indonesia becoming a major player on the global economic stage.The progress Indonesia has made, and more importantly, the progress the country is to make, would be a significant global story and an inspiration for other countries, Forbes said.Forbes even expressed high optimism for Indonesia's future under President Prabowo's leadership.According to him, this is a truly exciting time, and he is delighted to be in Indonesia to chronicle it and provide a platform for the world to see what we are witnessing—a great future for a great nation.In addition to expressing appreciation, Forbes also announced that Indonesia will host the CEO Global Forum, held by Forbes Media, on October 14–15, 2025.
