Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower continues to expand job opportunities for the disabled through entrepreneurship training.

The measure is being taken to make people with disabilities become job creators and economically independent, Special Staff to the Minister of Manpower, Sukro Muhab, said when opening the 2026 Entrepreneurship Service Event under the theme ‘Inclusive Entrepreneurship, Growing Together, in Indonesia’s Bantul City, Yogyakarta Province, Friday (April 17).

Job opportunities must continue to expand to optimize existing national potential, Sukro said, adding that jobs are not limited for those working in the formal sector, such as civil servants or company employees.

According to him, job opportunities are also available through independent businesses, the creative economy, and the use of digital technology.

"Job vacancies are everywhere. Not only in companies, but they can also be created independently. What we need to encourage is how people shift from job seekers to job creators," he stated.

Through the activity, Sukro said that the Ministry of Manpower presents two main focuses: entrepreneurship training for the disabled and business strengthening for start-up Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Sukro emphasized that physical limitations are not a barrier to creativity.

"Physical limitations are not a barrier. What's most important are creativity and thinking skills. We want to ensure that our friends with disabilities have equal access to development and economic independence," he remarked.

In addition to training, the ministry also offers opportunities for further business development through the Independent Worker Program for participants who have already started businesses so they can expand to the higher level.

"We not only provide training, but also provide mentoring and provide access to financing. We hope that the businesses they start can grow and even absorb new workers," he said.
