Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian government did not increase fuel prices, particularly subsidized ones, amid fluctuating global energy prices.

The policy shows the government's commitment to maintaining public purchasing power and national economic stability.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasized that there were no changes to subsidized fuel prices.

The decision was made by the government based on the directives of Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto and the results of a joint meeting, Bahlil emphasized in a press statement to the media in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Meanwhile, for non-subsidized fuel, the government is still conducting further discussions with Indonesia’s state-owned oil company Pertamina and private fuel suppliers, so no decision has been made regarding price adjustments.

On the same occasion, Bahlil also called on the public to remain wise in their energy consumption, particularly in fuel use.

"I urge everyone to understand that in a situation like this, the government cannot work alone. We need the support and cooperation of the public. How can we do that? We must purchase fuel reasonably and wisely," he said.

He also reminded the public to only refer to official information from the government to avoid misunderstandings amid the rapid development of energy-related information.

The government is committed to continuing to conduct regular reviews of global energy price developments to ensure that policies taken continue to favor the interests of the public.

"The president always emphasizes that the interests of the people at the grassroots, especially our less fortunate brothers and sisters, must receive greater attention in policymaking so that everything runs smoothly," he said.
