The Quran memorization education at Miftahul Jannah Akbar ensures the students understand that an official legitimate government must be obeyed.

Bogor, W Java (Indonesia Window) – Focusing on studying and memorizing the Noble Quran, as well as mastering Arabic, Indonesia’s Miftahul Jannah Akbar (MJA) boarding school located in Cisarua sub district, Bogor district, West Java province, has recently graduated 22 Quran memorizers.

The achievement is in line with part of the four-pillar motto of MJA, namely ‘The Qur’an in my Heart’. This boarding school was founded in 2018,

“The Quran in my heart means that their hearts have been split open by the Quran, like the Messenger of Allah sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam who had his chest cut open before becoming a Prophet. Meanwhile, here we do it only with knowledge,” the founder of an Indonesian Quran memorization boarding school, Dr. Patrialis Akbar, said when delivering remarks at the ceremony of the fourth-batch graduation and the presentation of Quran sanad in Cisarua sub district, West Java province, Sunday (July 14).

Apart from becoming the Quran memorizers, several MJA graduates have also been accepted to study at different universities, and will continue their education majoring in general study programs.

“Masha Allah, on average they are accepted to study at universities by means of tahfizh,” said a former Constitutional Judge at the Indonesian Constitutional Court for the 2013-2017 period.

He further explained that MJA alumni who come from all regions of Indonesia are also certain to have the value of patriotism. This is one of the pillars that is also instilled in the students when they study at the MJA Quran memorizing boarding school.

“We have instilled a spirit of nationalism in our students, ‘Nationality in My Spirit’ (one of the four-pillar motto). In the last days they studied here. I served as their preceptor because they will soon become students of higher education,” Dr. Patrialis pointed out.

“Apart from the ‘Al Qur’an in My Heart’, we want also to instill other pillars aiming to master science and technology, having a healthy body, and a very high spirit of nationalism,” he underscored.

He explained the importance of the pillar of nationalism, “because after graduating from Miftahul Jannah Akbar, they are expected to become leaders.”

“The system adopted in our country today opens up opportunities for everyone to become a leader in this country, be it a regent or a governor, or even a president,” Dr. Patrialis said.

He also emphasized that the Quran memorization education at Miftahul Jannah Akbar ensures the students understand that a government that has been elected and officially recognized must be obeyed.

“We cannot rebel, we cannot even protest. Instead, acknowledge it is part of our government. We really apply the spirit of nationalism so that God willing, they will not involve in putting pressure on the government, because that would be wasteful,” explained the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2009-2011 period.

At the graduation of the 4th batch of Miftahul Jannah Akbar, one student, Muhammad Rafi Athallah, received a sanad diploma for successfully memorizing the 30 chapters of the Quran with perfect and strong memorization. This means that all of his memorization of the Quran, starting from the first surah (Al Fatihah) to the last surah or the 114th (An Naas), has a continuous path of lineage from one teacher to another, until it reaches Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Having a sanad in memorizing the Quran designates a high quality and credibility of ones’ knowledge, especially in mastering the Quran.
