Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Stereo types about Saudi Arabia that do not prioritize women’s rights are increasingly erased under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
President of Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad noted that during the last three years, 60 human rights decisions have been issued, and 22 of which focused on women’s rights.
This was conveyed at a meeting with Director General Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Christophe Deloire in Cairo, Egypt on Monday (Dec 9), the International Islamic News Agency reported as quoted by Indonesia Window here on Tuesday.
At the meeting the two sides discussed a number of matters of common concern.
Al-Awwad talked about the progress made by Saudi Arabia towards freedom of expression.
He also highlighted the kingdom’s efforts to protect and promote human rights, as well as a paradigm shift which was taking place under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
