Indonesia’s Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia, took an active part in the largest trade exhibition in Angola, Feira Internacional de Luanda (FILDA) in an effort to expand and increase market access for Indonesian products in the Southwest African country.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia, successfully participated in the biggest trade exhibition in Angola, Feira Internacional de Luanda (FILDA), which took place in the Special Economic Zone, Luanda, on July 18-22, 2023.

Indonesia’s Embassy in Windhoek took an active part in FILDA which was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, in an effort to expand and increase market access for Indonesian products in Angola, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement on Monday.

The embassy’s booth was presented by 11 leading companies from Indonesia, including PT Tunas Baru Lampung, PT Gajah Tunggal, Mensa Group, PT Sumber Kopi Prima, PT Kino Indonesia, and PT Tjiwi Kimia Paper Factory.

This year's FILDA exhibition carried the theme ‘Digital Economy: The New Frontier of the World Economy’ and received great attention from many business people from various countries. More than 1,500 business people took part in the event which has reached its 38th edition.

Many FILDA visitors and Angolan importers attracted Indonesian prime products including palm oil, biscuits, tires, instant coffee and stationery.

The active participation of the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek and companies from this archipelagic country made a positive contribution to strengthening bilateral economic relations between Indonesia and Angola.

The embassy’s participation in FILDA is not only a form of economic diplomacy, but also a real effort to expand market share and create mutually beneficial business cooperation opportunities between Indonesia and Angola.

The presence of these high quality Indonesian products was expected to gain more attention in the international market and bring sustainable economic benefits to both countries.

Previously, the Indonesian Ambassador to Namibia and Angola, Wisnu Edi Pratignyo, paid a working visit to Luanda, Angola on March 12-16 2023. The working visit was aimed at enhancing the Indonesia-Angola trade relations and cooperation.
