Jakarta (Indonesia Window) - The Palestinians are endlessly suffering, especially from the blockade by Israel which is hampering the supply of medicines and health equipment needed by all health care centers.

Yet, being under Israeli’s pressure and limited access, the Nusantara Palestina Center (NPC) Foundation in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, Jordan, has recently handed over medical equipment for the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The aid was handed over by the Chairman of the NPC Board, Abdillah Onim, and received by a heart disease specialist Dr. Majdi Syonnat, according to the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s website as quoted by Indonesia Window here on Tuesday.

The aid was in the form of a machine to detect internal and cardiovascular diseases, and it was placed in the Jab. Medical Center in North Gaza.

Dr. Syonnat expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian people, especially to the Indonesian Embassy in Amman and the NPC Foundation who always gave support to the Palestinian people.

The health care center in Jabalia city is located in the middle of a poor settlement in North Gaza.

The medical device donated by the Indonesian people was valued at around US$25,000 and became the only modern machine that would be used to serve patients free of charge.

The number of patients at the health service center and internal disease examination center room reaches 80 per day.

At the request of the Palestinian Government in Gaza, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman and the NPC Foundation will reopen the Indonesian public kitchen inside the As-Syifa Hospital complex in Gaza city for patients and the locals.
