Indonesia confident national economic fundamentals remain strong amidst dynamics of rupiah exchange rate

The Indonesian government, along with relevant authorities, continues to monitor and take necessary steps to respond to the dynamics of the rupiah exchange rate.

 

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian government ensures that it will continue to monitor developments in the rupiah exchange rate through intensive coordination between economic authorities to maintain national economic stability.

The step is being taken jointly by the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia (BI/the central bank), and the Financial Services Authority, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi told the press at the Presidential Palace here on on Thursday (June 4).

Minister Prasetyo Hadi emphasized that the government, along with relevant authorities, continues to monitor and take necessary steps to respond to the dynamics of the rupiah exchange rate.

"Regarding the rupiah issue, we, the government, specifically the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority, continue to coordinate intensively to monitor and then take appropriate steps," he said.

Nevertheless, the minister asked the public to remain optimistic about the condition of the Indonesian economy.

According to him, several key indicators show that the national economic foundation is strong and well-maintained.

The minister also explained that the strength of Indonesia's economic fundamentals is reflected in consistently positive economic growth and controlled inflation.

This condition provides important capital for Indonesia in facing the ongoing global economic challenges.

"But what is certain is that we must be confident that our economic fundamentals are truly strong, as reflected in economic growth and maintained inflation," he said.

Minister Prasetyo emphasized that the government believes national economic resilience is still on track.

With solid coordination between economic authorities and strong fundamental support, the government is optimistic that national economic stability can be maintained.

"God willing, we actually have quite strong economic fundamentals," he emphasized.
