Indonesia reshuffles cabinet, installing 4 ministers, 1 deputy minister

Four ministers and one deputy minister in the Indonesian president’s cabinet were inaugurated at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated four ministers and one deputy minister in the Red and White Cabinet at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, September 8, 2025.The ministers were inaugurated based on Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 86/P of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State in the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period.The four ministers and one deputy minister inaugurated are:1. Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Minister of Finance;2. Mukhtarudin as Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers/Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency;3. Ferry Joko Yuliantono as Minister of Cooperatives;4. Mochamad Irfan Yusuf as Minister of Hajj and Umrah;5. Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak as Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah.On the occasion, President Prabowo administered the oath of office to the newly appointed ministers and deputy minister."That I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will strictly enforce all laws and regulations in my service to the nation and state. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of office, work to the best of my ability, and with a full sense of responsibility," the president, dictating the oath of office.At the inauguration, it was announced that Budi Gunawan, as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, and Dito Ariotedjo, as Minister of Youth and Sports, had completed their duties as ministers.However, the inauguration for these two positions has not yet taken place. In his statement after the inauguration, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that the position of Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs will be filled by an interim official."Regarding the position of Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, the President has not yet definitively appointed who he will assign as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs. Therefore, he will temporarily appoint an interim official to serve as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs," Minister Prasetyo said.Prasetyo stated that the official announcement of the interim official for the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs will be made after the decree is signed.Meanwhile, regarding the position of Minister of Youth and Sports, Prasetyo said the new Minister of Youth and Sports' replacement was unable to attend today's inauguration."Regarding the Minister of Youth and Sports, the acting Minister is out of town, so he won't be able to attend the inauguration this afternoon.
