Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Ministry of Trade encourages seven main trade sectors to increase exports through the 2022 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), and targets thousands of foreign buyers.

Prime products from the seven main sectors would be showcased at the 37th TEI along with a variety of domestic leading export products, according to a written statement from the Ministry of Trade received here on Tuesday.

The 37th TEI will take place on October 19–23, 2022 offline and December 19–19, online at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang district, Banten province.

The Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Didi Sumedi, said the development of the seven main sectors in Indonesia is promising, with the trend of increasing demand and supply in recent years.

“These seven main trade sectors are selected areas that we feel need to be encouraged to increase Indonesia’s exports. These seven sectors have great potential. We can also see an increase in demand from various friendly countries in the last few years,” Didi noted.

The seven main trade sectors targeted by the 37th TEI are manufacturing, fashion and accessories, care and beauty, food and beverage, medical equipment, furniture and home decor, and digital products and services.

Didi added that the 37th TEI will bring together entrepreneurs of leading export products with prospective buyers from various countries in the world.

The Ministry of Trade continues to make preparations to invite thousands of potential foreign buyers as well as exhibitors of superior quality products.

Meanwhile, the Director of Export Development of Creative Services and Products at the Ministry of Trade, Miftah Farid, said that so far the enthusiasm of business players to become the 37th exhibitors is very high to showcase their flagship products.

“The trade exhibition held by a combination of offline and online methods is a new opportunity. The government as a policy maker can encourage various kinds of Indonesian leading products to meet potential buyers from abroad,” Miftah continued.

The commitment to encourage various kinds of Indonesian leading products has always been the main dedication of the Ministry of Trade, Miftah said.

The 37th TEI carries the theme “Strengthening the Global Trade for Stronger Recovery” and is held coinciding with the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) event which is also awaited by the export market.

“As the largest trade exhibition in Indonesia, the 37th TEI is prepared to be able to feature the Indonesian business sector which has started to revive, so that it can achieve maximum export potential after the global pandemic that has hit over the last few years,” Miftah said.
