Golden Visa is given by the Indonesian government to simplify the stay permit process for investors and global talents who want to contribute to this largest archipelagic country in the world.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo launched the Golden Visa, at the Grand Ballroom, The Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta, on Thursday (July 25) in an effort to simplify the stay permit process for foreign citizens and global talents who want to contribute to this resource-rich country.

President Widodo said that based on data from the Directorate General of Immigration, there have been 300 registrants since the program was introduced, according to the Indonesian Cabinet Secretariat in a written statement quoted by Indonesia Window on Sunday.

The president provides the opportunity for individual foreign citizens to obtain stay permits in Indonesia for five years by investing with this facility.

“Individuals will expend 350,000 US dollars each and corporations will spend 25 million US dollars each for the visa,” the head of state explained in the hope that there would be many investors who would invest in Indonesia and be subject to a selection process so that those living in our country are not foreign nationals who give no benefit to Indonesia.

He also pointed out that the Golden Visa policy is evaluated every three months.

On the occasion, the president also handed over a Golden Visa Card directly to Indonesian National Football Team Coach Shin Tae Yong.
