Be aware of 22 active volcanoes in Indonesia: Researcher

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has called on people to be aware of 22 active volcanoes in Indonesia.

Among the active volcanoes are Mount Anak Krakatau in Lampung, Mount Semeru in Lumajang (East Java), Mount Tangkuban Perahu in Lembang (West Java), Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta, and Mount Soputan in Minahasa (North Sulawesi).


Overall Indonesia has 127 active volcanoes and 69 of them are monitored every day.
