Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s spokesperson Dedy Permadi has said the government has opened up opportunities for Indonesian diaspora medical doctors around the world to help overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

"In addition to doctors in the country, opportunities are also opened for diaspora doctors who want to serve for Indonesia," Dedy in a daily press statement on Emergency Community Activities Restriction (locally known as PPKM) said here on Sunday (July 11).

Dedy also said that regarding health workers, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs has coordinated with the Minister of Education, Culture and Research and Technology to involve final year-students in that effort.

The latest data show 36,197 people in Indonesia was infected with the coronavirus on Sunday (July 11), increasing the number of cases to 2,527,203 as of July 11, 2021. Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 1,007 people, to 66,464 people on Sunday (July 11).
