Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian pharmaceutical company Kimia Farma Diagnostika provides 40,000 doses of paid COVID-19 vaccine for the first phase in six cities on the islands of Java and Bali.

The company has opened eight points for COVID-19 vaccination service through its clinic networks in Jakarta, Bandung (West Java province), Solo and Semarang (Central Java province), Surabaya (East Java province), and Bali, Kimia Farma Diagnostika’s Acting Director Agus Chandra told a virtual press conference on Sunday.

"At each point we prepare 5,000 doses while observing the public interest and demands," he said.

The government stipulates that the price of paid vaccine per dose is 321,660 rupiahs (some 22.20 U.S. dollars), and the service price of 117,910 rupiahs (some 8.14 dollars). Therefore, the total price per dose of vaccine is 439,570 rupiahs (some 30.34 dollars).

With two vaccine jabs, the price for a complete vaccine package is 879,140 rupiahs (some 60.68 dollars) per person.

Kimia Farma Diagnostika, which provides Sinopharm's vaccine, will open services starting Monday (July 12).

The company, which is a business unit of Indonesian pharmaceutical Kimia Farma, applies a private Gotong Royong vaccination program for people who are not registered in business and legal entities.

In addition to providing the vaccine in clinics, Kimia Farma Diagnostika will also expand its paid vaccine services from airports to shopping centers in a number of big cities after the government revoks the Emergency Community Activities Restriction (locally known as PPKM).

"This vaccination is optional, not mandatory," said Agus.
