Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A volunteer of Indonesian Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) who is currently still in the Gaza Strip, Fikri Rofiul Haq, reported that an Israeli attack occurred again on Monday (Jan. 8) at 6.21 pm local time, right in front of the school where they take refuge, in Khan Younis, South Gaza.“There was a very big explosion on Monday, January 8, 2024, near the school where we were. And this is very close to the school where we live, only a few tens of meters or even a few dozen meters, because it's right in front of where we are," Fikri said.In the video he sent, very thick smoke is seen after the explosion.“The explosion was so loud. It shook the place where we were taking refuge and residents who were doing their activities immediately entered the school where we were," he added.Israel is still continuing to attack Gaza and has now entered the fourth month. The war has displaced at least 85 percent of Gaza's 2.4 million residents, according to the UN’s figures.Last November, Israeli troops also carried out a siege and attack on the Indonesian Hospital in Bait Lahiya, North Gaza, for days. They ordered the evacuation of the hospital, forcing three MER-C volunteers, 550 patients who were still under treatment, along with 200 medical workers and at least 1,500 Palestinians seeking refuge to flee to South Gaza.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
