
Indonesia hopes transaction target at Travex 2023 be achieved

Travex 2023 which takes place from February 3 to 5, 2023 is a business to business (B2B) forum for tourism businesses in ASEAN countries.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said that the enthusiasm of sellers and buyers at Travex 2023 was quite high because the activity is featuring the best tourism and creative economy products.Sandiaga made the remarks on Saturday (Feb. 4) evening while visiting the Travel Expo (Travex) at the Jogjakarta Expo Center (JEC) with a number of delegates from the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), which is part of the 2023 ATF, according to the Head of the Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani, in her written statement."I purposely invite Madame Garcia (Secretary of the Philippine Department of Tourism - Christina Garcia Fasco) to see in person the enthusiasm and potential for the revival of our tourism," said Sandiaga who is also head of the Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.The potentials are mainly destinations and centers of creative economy in Indonesia, which are starting to improve so that the revival of tourism has an impact on society, he said, adding, "so that it has an impact on the opening of business opportunities and employment, especially for MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) actors".The 2023 ATF Exhibition is divided into two main events, namely TRAVEX (Travel Exchange) and the Indonesian Tourism Exhibition, (for) creative economy MSME and culinary festivals.Travex 2023 which takes place from Feb. 3 to 5, 2023 is a business to business (B2B) forum for tourism businesses in ASEAN countries consisting of ASEAN NTOs, ASEAN tourism industries, travel and tourism hospitality industries, hotels & accommodation industries, TA /TO, as well as MICE (meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition) actors.Meanwhile, for business to customer (B2C), this activity is featuring the Indonesian Tourism Exhibition, MSME Creative Economy and Culinary Festival which was attended by more than 160 MSME players, local governments and the tourism industry from various regions in the country.The B2B Exhibition (Travex) was attended by 10 ASEAN countries plus Russia, India, China, Japan and South Korea which involve 207 companies and 115 international sellers and exhibitors, he said, hoping that the transaction targets in the two activities could be achieved.“For B2B, the total transactions are still under calculation, but for B2C the target is 5 billion rupiahs and since the beginning of the exhibition (2/2/2023) transactions have been reported to have been over 3 billion rupiahs," he said, adding that the exhibition could encourage innovation in the country.*1 dolar AS = 15,095 rupiahReporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
