
Taiwan opens tourist information center in Jakarta, expands market in Indonesia

The Tourism Information Center in Jakarta was officially opened on February 28, 2024, in order to expand the Formosa Island tourism market in Indonesia.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Taiwan officially opened the Tourism Information Center in Jakarta on February 28, in order to expand the tourism market for Formosa Island in Indonesia.The center's inauguration event was followed by a unique exhibition under the theme 'Explore Taiwan - Now is the Time! - Time for Taiwan', held at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta, from 8 to 10 March, 2024.Director of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta, Abe Chou and Secretary of the Press Information Division of the Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO), Juan Chen, stated that the Taiwan Tourism Administration is committed to advancing Taiwan's tourism industry.The administration is actively promoting and exploring the Indonesian market, including developing special travel packages for Muslim tourists that offer list of halal restaurants that suit the preferences of the Indonesian market who like selfie travelers.The programs aim to improve Taiwan's tourism image and continue to expand the Indonesian tourism market as one of the main destinations.This exhibition event is an excellent opportunity to showcase the various charms of Taiwan and its rich culture, and is expected to attract more Indonesian tourists to explore the Formosa Island and create beautiful travel memories.Interactive performances from Taiwan's famous theater group, Tiger Troupe, were also presented to provide a complete sensory experience to Indonesians, so they could experience the rich culture of the Formosa Island.Meanwhile, Taiwanese culinary delights that are most liked by Indonesian tourists, such as traditional snacks: shaved ice, Taiwanese salted chicken, and peanut ice cream rolls, are also served at the event.Some visitors, Destika and Sandra, said that they had never been to Taiwan, but after attending the exhibition, not only they were able to experience Taiwan's exciting lantern festival and making Chinese New Year calligraphy, but also learned that eggs could be cooked in hot springs.They also really liked the typical Taiwanese boba drink and for the first time tasted the Taiwanese peanut ice cream roll, which has a chewy skin texture, and has a unique peanut powder taste.
