Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – This year's holy month of Ramadhan, the Quran Waqf Board (BWA) has distributed 350 alms packages to dhuafa (the need ones) and converts in remote areas in Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Sumatra. In this year's distribution, the board involved many regional preachers to distribute food packages to the poor in remote villages. Each of the basic food packages that it distributed consisting of 3 kg of rice, five pieces of instant noodles, 1 kg of sugar, 1 liter of cooking oil, and biscuits. In its press release received by Indonesia Window here on Thursday, BWA prepared 350 food packages to be distributed in several locations, including Aceh Besar district and Lhokseumawe city in Aceh province, Ketapang and Sintang districts in West Kalimantan province, and in the interior of Pinrang district, South Sulawesi province.Assisted by volunteers of the Inland Muslim Care Committee (the Da’i team), the food packages had been distributed in several villages in the interior of Sintang, including Benua Baru village, Pudau village, Mangkurat Baru village, and Tinum village, all of which are included in Tempunak vistrict, Sintang district. All beneficiaries are the poor and converts from the Dayak tribe in the areas. The challenges faced by the team are quite heavy as they have to pass through the river path and should take a boat to get to the locations. Sometimes they also have to use motorbikes because the access road they have to go to cannot be reached by four-wheeled vehicles.A total of 100 food packages have also been distributed to the poor in Ketapang district, West Kalimantan province. The hilly and muddy road conditions after last night's rain made it difficult for the team to go fast. Several times the team had to work hand in hand to push the vehicle to be free of mud.The distribution of Ramadan alms packages will not be stopped until Ramadan this year. The Quran Waqf Board will continue the program in the next Ramadans.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
