Indonesian police woman wins UN award

The Indonesian police woman, Brigadier Renita Rismayanti, serving as a crime database officer at the UN Mission in the Central African Republic, received appreciation for her extraordinary contribution in the field of digital policing.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian police woman, Brigadier Renita Rismayanti, won the 13th United Nations Women Police Officer of the Year Award at the 2023 Police Week at UN Headquarters (November 13-17).The Indonesian police woman, who serves as a Crime Database Officer at the UN Mission in the Central African Republic, received appreciation for her extraordinary contribution in the field of digital policing, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a written statement quoted by Indonesia Window on Thursday.UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres congratulated Brigadier Renita and appreciated the role of women in the security sector.The president of the 78th UN General Assembly also expressed congratulations and emphasized the UN's commitment to women's empowerment and gender equality.MINUSCA, the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic established in 2014, plays an important role in civilian protection and security sector reform.Indonesia, as the 7th largest peacekeeper in the world, has 154 Formed Police Units and 18 Individual Police Officers in MINUSCA as of September 2023, including 33 female peacekeepers.This award is not only an individual achievement but also reflects Indonesia's commitment to supporting world peace, in line with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
