
Republic of Iran's President to visit Indonesia, expand bilateral cooperation

Republic of Iran is pursuing active diplomacy and taking a new approach to foreign policy. Over the past two years, the Iranian president has made visits to more than 10 countries, including Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Qatar, China and Syria.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi is scheduled to pay a visit to Indonesia on May 23-24, at the official invitation of his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo.A written statement from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta received on Monday stated that during the state visit there will be an exchange of views and talks between the high-level delegations of the two countries.During the meeting the delegates will also sign various cooperation documents in various sectors, including in the fields of energy, pharmaceutical and health products, food products, customs cooperation, bilateral trade facilitation, science and technology, culture, and other fields.Apart from meeting with the Indonesian head of state, President Raisi will also meet with the Speaker of Indonesia’s House of Representatives and Chairperson of the People's Consultative Assembly, as well as scholars, thinkers, lecturers, students and businesspeople.Under the government of President Raisi, who took office in August 2021, Iran is pursuing active diplomacy and taking a new approach to foreign policy. Over the past two years, the Iranian president has made visits to more than 10 countries, including Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Qatar, China and Syria.President Raisi also received state visits from leaders and senior officials from various countries, including Syria, Venezuela, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iraq, Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.The statement from the Iranian Embassy said that this shows that President Raisi's government is taking a new approach with a diplomacy slogan that is "Balanced, Smart and Dynamic".He also seriously carried out Iran's foreign policy with the aim of fostering and expanding friendly and brotherly relations with all countries around the world.In carrying out this diplomacy, Indonesia is the next destination country to be officially visited by President Raisi, which has been planned since a year ago, the statement said.Indonesia as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, shares culture-civilization similarities with Iran, and has a significant capacity for cooperation in various fields, especially when changes are happening in the international political system.Indonesia has a special place in the minds of the Iranian government, mainly because the former is located in the hub of international transportation and trade routes in the East Asian and Southeast Asian regions.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
