Jakarta (Indonesia Window) - A total of 399,103 Indonesian citizens have arrived to perform umrah (minor hajj) in the Holy Land of Makkah since the beginning of the umrah season which began in August 2019 or 12 Rabbis Al-Awwal 1441 Hijri.

Official statistics on the Saudi Umrah indicator show the total number of umrah visas issued was 2,212,690 since the start of the umrah season this year, Arab News reported as quoted by Indonesia Window here on Sunday.

According to these statistics, 1,782,554 umrah pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia, while 1,373,963 have left the country after performing worship.

Of these, 1,705,567 worshipers arrived by air, 76,882 by land and 105 by sea.

Those arriving included 450,011 Pakistanis, 399,103 Indonesians, 238,981 Indians, 110,739 Malaysians, 85,808 Egyptians, 70,626 Turks, 64,238 Algerians, 61,111 Bangladeshis, 37,191 Emirati citizens, and 27,540 Jordanians.

In order to provide comprehensive and varied services for pilgrims, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia launched the Inaya (care) centers.

The centers contribute to the goal of the Kingdom Vision 2030 by enhancing the experience of pilgrims.

"The centers will be available in areas where umrah pilgrims are located, in Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah," said Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umrah Minister Mohammed Saleh Benten.

The pilgrims, parties that serve the pilgrims as well as hajj and umrah service companies can manage their affairs in the Inaya centers through a self-service system or by directly contacting officials at these centers, the minister added.
