Bogor, W Java (Indonesia Window) – A team from the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Bogor city in West Java province has found a bunker while walking along an old aqueduct from the Dutch colonial era on a street in the city.

The bunker is a relatively large room with 8.5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters high, explained an official, Dian Setiawan, here ion Thursday (Sep. 2).

He added, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya instructed his team carried out dredging in the ancient aqueduct.

"The team consists of 16 people. We dredged the sedimentation and traced the ancient waterways we found. From where the waterways were found, there was a large room inside as they highlighted using a flashlight," explained Dian.

However, he continued, the team members had a lack of oxygen when checking the room.

Therefore, the office would build an air duct control box at the PT KAI Depot (the train office), precisely above the bunker.

"This control tube has a function for the air duct, as well as for the path to dispose of garbage so that it is faster," he said.

Dian explained that team members still continue to enter the tunnel to dredge the garbage, measure it, and find a way to pull the garbage that has accumulated from the tunnel section.

He added that the exact direction of the flow from the ancient Dutch aqueduct tunnel was not known.
