Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism has officially launched the Gastronomy Tour Package Catalog, featuring 15 gastronomy entrepreneurs with the best tour packages resulting from intensive acceleration under the Wonderful Indonesia Scale-up Hub (WISH) 2025 program.Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said in Jakarta on Tuesday (Dec. 2) that one of the ministry's duties is to promote food culture as a means of gastrodiplomacy, as every journey of Indonesian flavors and dishes is a cultural narrative that strengthens the nation.“Through the WISH program in the gastronomy sector, we are investing in the ability of tourism actors to tell these stories," Minister Widiyanti explained. The catalog contains comprehensive business profiles, featured products, and unique selling propositions ready for marketing. It serves as a comprehensive guide for tourists seeking to explore and enjoy a variety of Indonesia's finest culinary experiences. Not only does each tour package highlight the beauty of the destination but also offer an immersive and responsible experience, enriching knowledge while fostering a love of culture and nature."Hopefully, this catalog will bring the flavors of Indonesia to the global gastronomic stage, transforming each story into an authentic, unforgettable, and valuable experience," she said. The Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani, added that the largest component of foreign tourist spending came from accommodation at 37.89 percent, followed by spending on food and beverages, souvenirs, entertainment, and local tour packages at 45.24 percent. These percentages demonstrate the significant opportunity for local commodities as a key driver of the tourism industry."We are striving to diversify beyond traditional approaches to encourage more equitable regional growth while creating broader employment opportunities. The WISH program is a strategic initiative to strengthen the tourism ecosystem," she said. The Gastronomy Tour Package Catalog is one tangible manifestation of this program. Tour packages have significant market potential because they act like chefs who combine various tourism elements to create memorable and high-quality trips. It integrates unique accommodations, comfortable transportation, curated culinary delights, and exclusive attractions.Rizki hopes this catalog would be a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs."Tourism isn't just about selling a place, but a space for limitless collaboration, innovative partnerships that combine various types of businesses and products, while reaching various market segments," she said. She added that this catalog is designed to broaden horizons, presenting a variety of menus that refresh the mind and instill new energy.Rizki hopes tourists can discover unique recipes for mental and physical health through authentic travel. The Gastronomy Tour Package Catalog is now available and can be downloaded via the following link: bit.ly/katalogturgastro2025.Reporting by Indonesia WindowBagikan
