The event which is held from May 29 to June 6, 2024 in Jakarta and Surabaya (East Java province) pulsed with the excitement of this celebration, capturing the essence of Western Australia.

WA Week 2024 aims to promote WA as a premier destination for living, studying, working, and visiting. This six-day event will feature face-to-face activities engaging a broad range of stakeholders from the international education, creative industries, and primary industry sectors in Indonesia. WA Education Agent Workshop and Open Day offers a portal to a world of academic opportunities, bridging connections between Indonesian students and Western Australia’s top universities. These workshops aim to promote WA’s educational excellence and opportunities in Western Australia. Featuring representatives from 12 leading universities in Western Australia.

Through captivating screenings of ‘Blueback’, a family-friendly film highlighting the natural beauty and cultural values of Western Australia, audiences will be immersed in the captivating appeal of Western Australia’s natural splendor. Insights from Rick Rifici, the underwater cinematographer of the film, offered a deeper appreciation of its cultural significance.

Get ready for a culinary spectacle as Jakarta and Surabaya’s culinary maestros showcase the versatility of Western Australian lamb in the Lambtastic Battle.

Invest and Trade Western Australia is committed to promoting Western Australian lamb as a premium and high-value product in Jakarta through the collaboration with MLA in the ‘Lambtastic Battle’. By raising awareness and developing the presence of Western Australia red meat, Western Australia aims to create a lasting impression and a strong foundation for continued growth and success in the region.

On the other hand, WA Week 2024 which aligns with the esteemed ‘Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia’, strengthening the cultural exchange between the two countries and fostering lasting bonds of friendship and collaboration.

Traditionally, Western Australia celebrates WA Day on the first Tuesday of June. However, this year’s WA Week coincides with the ‘Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia’, a month-long event by the Australian Embassy. By aligning with this broader festival, WA Week 2024 aims to enhance its reach and impact, showcasing the best of Western Australia to a wider audience.
