Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A United Arab Emirates (UEA) energy company, Murban Energy, and the Aceh administration has signed a Letter of Intent for investment in the development of luxury tourism areas in a number of islands in the province, including Ujung Batu, Sikandang, Balong and Asok Islands.
Murban Energy, represented by Executive Director Amine Abid, signed the document in Jakarta on Friday (March 5).
“Alhamdulillah, the second visit of Murban Energy, represented by Amine Abid, shows the seriousness of the company (to invest). This is a good opportunity for the Aceh administration to showcase strategic locations that potential to be developed as tourism areas,” Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Husin Bagis said.
Murban Energy is owned by Mohamed Thani Al-Rumaithi who is also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Apart from investing in the energy sector, Murban Energy is also investing in the development of luxury tourist areas, including those in the Maldives and Seychelles.
Murban Energy is very interested in developing a similar luxury tourist area in Indonesia’s most western province because it only takes five hours of flight to reach Aceh from Abu Dhabi.
In addition, the beauty of the islands in Aceh is similar to those in the Maldives.
The signing of the LoI was part of a series of agenda during the Indonesia-Emirates Amazing Week (IEAW) 2021 which took place on March 1-7, 2021, containing G to G and B to B activities.
