Insantama’s public relations staff member Andi Rizal stated that Smention aimed to be a medium for improving the quality of young generation with the character of leadership, while also awakening a creative and innovative spirits.

“Young people have an important role as future leaders, and are expected to be problem solvers, including in dealing with industrial technology problems,” he said in his opening remarks at Smention in Bogor, Saturday (Feb. 22).

He emphasized that as the world prepares to welcome the era of the 5.0 industrial revolution, Indonesia itself is still lagging behind in the 4.0 industrial revolution.

“This is caused by various factors, such as low human resource competency, limited infrastructure, and inequality of access to technology,” explained Andi.

He added that Smention is a forum for developing the potential of young intellectuals in various useful fields of activity. “That way they will be more focused on becoming the next generation of leaders and ready to inherit the leadership of this country,” Andi said.

In addition to the competition, Smention also held a national seminar featuring speakers Prof. Dr. Chusnul Arif (a lecturer and researcher from Management Consultant Moslem Scholar), Arif Firmansyah, Ph.D (a professor of Irrigation Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology IPB University), and Muhammad Faqih Alfarass (Chairperson of Insantama’s student organization).
