Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Muslim LifeFest 2024, which will be held again on August 30 – September 1 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang city, Banten province, is expected to enhance the halal lifestyle trend and the growth of various halal businesses in Indonesia.

“From the beginning, the Muslim LifeFest exhibition was actually held to strengthen the sense of brotherhood among Muslims. By bringing up the spirit of collaboration from various parties, together we move and strengthen the sharia economy in Indonesia,”the Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community (locally known its abbreviation as KPMI) which is the host of Muslim LifeFest, Rachmat Sutarnas Marpaung, told a press conference here on Thursday.

In addition to promoting halal products, building awareness of halal brands and networking among business players, Muslim LifeFest emphasizes literacy and education about sharia economy and finance, so that it is expected to increase the inclusion of this sector in the country.

With 200 booths and attended by 180 brands from different halal products and services, including those from abroad, Muslim LifeFest is expected to attract 45,000 to 60,000 visitors.

Under the big theme ‘the biggest and most comprehensive halal event’ in Indonesia, this year’s Muslim LifeFest will be in conjunction with two other big events, namely the Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference (JHEC), and the Muslim EduFest Islamic education exhibition by collaborating with the Indonesian Islamic Preaching and Education Institution Association (Puldapii).

Muslim EduFest aims to be a means for the peeople, especially parents, to find information about Islamic schools throughout Indonesia, from kindergarten to college, Islamic boarding schools, and tahfizh boarding schools.

“If Muslim LifeFest is an event for B-to-C (business to Consumer), then the Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference will be a B-to-B (business to business) event for business people to expand their business markets abroad,” Rachmat said.

According to JHEC’s project manager, Fachrul Azmi, the B-to-B event will hold a business match targeting business people in the country with the aim of helping them go international.

“Previously, we have held two online business matching events, which brought together Indonesian entrepreneurs with prospective buyers from abroad, including from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates,” he explained.

On August 30, we will then bring them together in an offline business matching event.

The Jakarta Halal Expo and Conference will also provide an opportunity for foreign countries to showcase their products to enter the Indonesian halal market, said Fachrul.

Some of the innovative events held at this year’s Muslim LifeFest include separate Muslim and Muslimah fashion shows, activities related to hobbies driven by the community, storytelling for children, and a donation collection for Palestine called ‘Preloved for Palestine’ by Indonesia’s philanthropic organization Dompet Dhuafa.
