Indonesia, South Korea sign program for COVID-19 response worth 4 mln USD

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on Thursday (June 24) signed the Minutes of Understanding on Inclusive Program for COVID-19 Response worth 4 million U.S. dollars.

It was conveyed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in a joint press statement with her South Korean counterpart, Chung Eui-yong, here on Friday.

Chung is on his first visit to Southeast Asia as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

The Indonesian foreign minister explained that the funds for the COVID-19 response inclusive program were aimed at supporting various efforts to overcome the pandemic as well as its social and economic impacts in Indonesia.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen the health industry in Indonesia and increase the country’s preparedness in facing other potential pandemics in the future.
