COVID-19 – 278 doctors in Indonesia die during pandemic

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – From January 1 to 16, 2021, there were 38 more doctors died of COVID-19 in Indonesia, bringing the total death toll during the pandemic to 278, the Indonesian Medical Association said on Monday (Jan. 18)

Of the 278 doctors, 156 were general practitioners, 117 were specialists and five were residents.

December is the month with the biggest number of doctors who died of the fatal disease in Indonesia, amounting to 52, followed by January (38), November (33), and August (22).

On Tuesday (Jan. 19), the number of positive cases of corona virus infection in Indonesia increased by 10,365, bringing the total cases to 927,380.

Meanwhile, 308 people died, making the total death cases to 26,590.

A total of 753,948 patients have been recovered, bringing the active cases of COVID-19 infection to 146,842.
