Jakarta (Indonesia Window) - The Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has found three Indonesian citizens who were reported to have lost contact and have not returned to their families for decades.

According to a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh received by Indonesia Window here, Monday, the three Indonesian citizens found by the Indonesian Embassy team are Carmi bint Ilyas from Cirebon, West Java; Sarni bint Ama Jasman from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara; and Eneng Mirawati bint ACU.

Carmi, who was reported to have lost contact for 31 years, was found by the Indonesian Embassy team in collaboration with local security forces in Gasem Province, in the al-Ammar region, about 400 kilometers from Riyadh.

Currently, Carmi is at the Indonesian Embassy’s shelter house in Riyadh with less stable psychological condition and is still difficult to communicate in the Indonesian language as she can only speak Amiyah Arabic and Javanese.

When meeting with Carmi, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Agus Maftuh Abegebriel, had to speak in Arabic to get information about her identity and how she lost contact for 31 years.

The other citizen, Sarni bint Ama Jasman had not returned to Indonesia for 25 years.

Meanwhile, Eneng Mirawati bint ACU was found in Khafji city, about 530 kilometers east of Riyadh. Earlier, her husband Erwin Sudiawan posted a message on Ambassador Agus Maftuh’s Facebook account.

Carmi, Eneng and Sarni are now with more than 200 Indonesian citizens at the Indonesian Embassy’s shelter in Riyadh and are waiting for the return to Indonesia.
