Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The number of vaccine recipients against COVID-19 in complete doses in Indonesia has reached 27.2 million, according to data from the National COVID-19 Task Force on Friday (Aug. 13).

Data from the Task Force received here on Friday showed that the number of people who had completed the COVID-19 vaccination increased by 1,484,073, bringing the total number to 27,228,923.

Meanwhile, the number of first dose recipients on Friday (Aug. 13) increased by 1,317,784 people, making the total number 53,212,350.

The Indonesian government plans to vaccinate 208,265,720 million people to reach herd immunity against the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2.

Currently, the number of people who received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine was only 13.07 percent of the total target and the number of two doses recipients had only reached 25.55 percent of the target.

The government is working to accelerate the increase in COVID-19 vaccination coverage by providing more vaccination service facilities, including mobile vaccination services, drive thru services, and floating vaccination facilities.

Separately, Head of Indonesia’s Drug and Food Control Agency (locally known as BPOM) Penny Lukito said, starting in August 2021, the national vaccination program would be expanded with a target of 2 million doses per day.
