Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A total of 54,959,545 people in Indonesia have received two vaccine injections against COVID-19 as of Thursday (Oct. 7), according to data from the COVID-19 Task Force.

The figure includes additional 517,566 people who received a second injection on Thursday (Oct. 7).

Meanwhile, the number of residents who have received the first doses of vaccines is 96,492,154 people, including additional 710,381 people who received the first injection.

Meanwhile, the third doses of vaccines, which are currently only given to health workers, were injected to 5,456 people, bringing the total number of medical personnel who had received the third doses to 980,846.

The government targets 208,265,720 Indonesians to receive complete doses of vaccines (two injections) to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.

On Thursday, Indonesia recorded 1,393 cases of new coronavirus infection, bringing the cumulative number to 4,224,487 since the first case was discovered in March 2020.

Meanwhile, 81 patients died, bringing the total deaths to 142,494 cases.

Until now there are 27,747 patients throughout the country who are undergoing medical treatment due to contracting the virus that attacks the respiratory system.
