Indonesia launches Virtual House website to promote national products in Slovakia

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin RI) launched a Virtual Indonesian House website at an online business meeting Embrace Potential Economic Cooperation Indonesia-Slovakia on Wednesday (Sep 23).

The Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, said the use of digital-based platforms is a necessity, especially with the world situation being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The site is a platform that provides information about trade and investment opportunities, as well as Indonesian tourism and cultures to stakeholders in Slovakia.

The Virtual Indonesian House website showcases Indonesian main products, as well as trade and investment business opportunities and potentials that can be explored between Indonesian and Slovak companies.

According to Ambassador Adiyatwidi, the site was recognized by stakeholders in Slovakia, including the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Slovak Chamber of Commerce, and the Slovak Trade and Investment Development Agency.

In the future, credible Slovak companies can also register on this website to become a reference for Indonesian business players.

Meanwhile, the Director General of America and Europe at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ngurah Swajaya, on the same occasion stated that in the context of diplomatic relations, the two countries have collaborated in various sectors including agriculture, energy and strategic industries.

There are still many economic potentials that can be capitalized to be developed, he said.

The Virtual Indonesian House is expected to enhance mutually beneficial trade and investment relations between the two parties in the new era.

Ambassador Swajaya also emphasized that in the new era, Indonesia is conducting vaccine diplomacy to ensure the availability of medical equipment, thus requiring cooperation with various countries.

Ambassador Swajaya promoted the business circles of the two countries to increase mutual contact through the facilities prepared by the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava.

According to the Director General of Economic Cooperation at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dusan Matulay, Indonesia has been known by the Slovak public for its superior commodities and tourist destinations.

Ambassador Dusan hoped that the two countries would explore opportunities for cooperation in the fields of climate change, information and communication technology, and renewable energy.

He also welcomed the cooperation in the health sector that is being explored by the two countries.

So far, the Virtual Indonesian House website features 56 Indonesian companies operating in various sectors, including spare parts, bicycles, coconuts, coffee, electronics, furniture, garments, herbal products, forest products, minerals and fertilizers, motorbikes, packaging, polyester, seafood, sorbitol, spices, and tires.

There are also Indonesian travel agents who promote Indonesian tour packages to the Slovak people.
