Solar photovoltaic laboratory equipment from the Swiss government has been granted to Indonesia, through the Renewable Energy Skills Development (RESD) cooperation project funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesia, through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, has received a package of grants of solar photovoltaic laboratory equipment from the Swiss government through the Renewable Energy Skills Development (RESD) cooperation project funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.
The minutes of the handover of the grant has been recently signed by the RESD Project Leader, Martin Stottele, and Indonesia’s Head of the Human Resources Development Center for Electricity, New Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Susetyo Edi Prabowo.
The laboratory equipment package consists of portable solar photovoltaic (PV) equipment, ground mount and pole mount rooftop solar panel equipment, and other supporting infrastructures.
On that occasion, Stottele expressed his support for the development of Indonesia’s human resources in the energy transition sector. “We hope that the renewable energy laboratory equipment at the center could improve the learning quality of trainees who take part in the Solar Power Plant Technician Training Program in Indonesia.
The RESD project involves four vocational and productivity training centers under the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower.
The RESD is a development cooperation between the Indonesian and the Swiss governments which aims to create a competent workforce in the fields of planning, design, construction and installation, inspection and commissioning, supervision and operation of solar power plants, diesel solar hybrid power plants, and hydroelectric power plants.
The RESD project lasts for five years, from 2020 to 2025, and involves the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as the project stakeholder as well as other strategic ministries/agencies, including the Directorate General of Vocational Studies, the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, the Ministry of Manpower, the National Professional Certification Agency, and the National Development Planning.
