COVID-19 – Indonesia receives 5 mln doses of Sinovac ready-to-use vaccine

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A total of five million doses of China’s Sinovac vaccine in ready-to-use form arrived at Indonesia’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang district, Banten province on Monday.

“We thank God, praise to Allah, because of His grace and blessing we are able to witness the arrival of Sinovac vaccine as many as five million in finished form,” Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said in a virtual press statement welcoming the vaccine on Monday (Sep. 6).

The Sinovac vaccine is the 50th stage of the arrivals since the first batch was received by Indonesia ten months ago.

So far, the total amount of Sinovac vaccine that have arrived in the country is 33 million doses in ready-to-use form and 153.9 million doses in bulk.

In addition, Indonesia has also secured 19.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, 8 million doses of Moderna, 2.75 million doses of Pfizer, and 8.25 million doses of Sinopharm.

“Overall, Indonesia has received as many as 225.4 million doses of vaccines from various brands, both in bulk and ready-to-use products,” said Airlangga.

“The addition of five million doses of Sinovac’s vaccine confirms that our vaccine stock is safe,” he added.
