Profile – LAZSip, Indonesian zakat distributing agency

An Indonesian agency of collecting and distributing zakat, known as Lembaga Amil Zakat Solidaritas Insan Peduli (LAZSip), was established in Indonesia’s Cileungsi sub district, Bogor district, West Java province, on June 15, 2015, aims to elevate mustahik (zakat recipients) to muzakki (zakat payers). Zakat recipients (mustahik) will be promoted to zakat payers (muzakki) through the programs of an Indonesian zakat distributing agency, locally known as Lembaga Amil Zakat Solidaritas Insan Peduli (LAZSip).
Bogor, West Java (Indonesia Window) – An Indonesian agency tasked with collecting, distributing and utilizing zakat, locally known as Lembaga Amil Zakat Solidaritas Insan Peduli (LAZSip), is promoting zakat recipients (mustahik) into zakat payers (muzakki).These tasks include management, administration, and public education about zakat to increase awareness and implementation of zakat.Zakat is payment of a certain proportion of personal wealth for charitable and religious purposes, obligatory under Islamic law for every adult Muslim of sufficient means, and it (zakat) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.Based on community concern about social problems in their communities, LAZSip was established in Indonesia’s Cileungsi sub district, Bogor district, West Java province, on June 15, 2015.LAZSip, with the tagline ‘Being Happy by Making Others Happy, has been registered and has collaborated several times with the Indonesian National Zakat Agency (locally known as BAZNAS) in distributing aid.The agency distributes zakat, infaq, and alms to communities in need through various charity programs, including those on health, education, basic needs, as well as assistance for orphans and foster children in accordance with Islamic law.Under the leadership of Muhamad Irfandi, Lc, LAZSip, which currently has the status at the district level, is committed to becoming a national zakat agency to distribute zakat throughout Indonesia.By increasing fundraising, the institution, supported by more than 150 verifiers throughout Indonesia, is targeting 30 billion rupiahs in zakat funds to become a national zakat agency. According to LazSip's financial data as of October 2025, the target is to achieve more than 15 billion rupiahs.One USD = 16.745 rupiahs.The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Director of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment (Ditzawa), Prof. Dr. Waryono Abdul Ghafur, commended LAZSip's achievements in collecting and distributing zakat, infaq, and alms (ZIS) funds, which have increased significantly in a relatively short period of time.The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Director of Zakat and Waqf Empowerment, Prof. Dr. Waryono Abdul Ghafur, commended LAZSip's achievements in collecting and distributing zakat, infaq, and alms (ZIS) funds, which have increased significantly in a relatively short period of time.Therefore, LAZSip deserves to be promoted.
