The Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI) area is expected to become Indonesia’s future in the development of the green energy industry.

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo believes that the Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI) area, in Bulungan district, North Kalimantan province, would become the largest green energy industry in the world.

The Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI) area is expected to become Indonesia’s future in the development of the green energy industry, President Widodo said while visiting the area on Tuesday.

“This is the Indonesian Industrial Park, which covers an area of 13 thousand hectares in total, which will be prepared for the development of the EV battery industry. This the first one,” the president explained.

The second is that the area is prepared for petrochemical development, and the third is for the development of the aluminum industry, the president noted.

“We hope that everything will be supported later by green energy, by renewable energy, by hydropower from the Mentarang river, Kayan river in North Kalimantan,” the head of state said after observing the area.

Furthermore, the head of state believes that this region would be able to produce competitive green products, and considers that this would strengthen the green industry in the area.

“We hope that with the competitive strength, the green energy, the products produced and green products will become the strength of the Indonesian Industrial Park in North Kalimantan,” he said.

The president also said that the KIPI could become the future of Indonesia, which could attract industries that produce green products.

“This is the future of Indonesia. The future of Indonesia is here. If this is realized well, everyone would go here in droves. Any industry related to green products would look to this area,” he said.

The president emphasized that he will continue to monitor the progress of the development of this green industrial area and ensure that the development of the Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia can proceed according to the set target.
