Indonesian Islamic organization announces 1 Ramadan to fall on April 2, 2022

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – An Indonesian Islamic organization, Muhammadiyah, has announced that 1 Ramadan 1443 Hijri will fall on Saturday, April 2, 2022, based on the results of the calculation of the appearance of the new moon.

“1 Ramadhan 1443 Hijri will fall on Saturday 2 April 2022 A.D.,” stated the announcement received here on Saturday.

Muhammadiyah, Indonesia’s second largest Islamic organization after Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), said 1 Ramadan was determined through ijtima (agreement), and it would fall on Friday April 1.

Meanwhile, 1 Shawwal 1443 Hijri will fall on Monday, May 2, 2022.

Based on the calculation results, Muhammadiyah has determined that 1 Ramadan 1443 will fall on Saturday, April 2, 2022; 1 Shawwal on Monday, May 2; 2022, 1 Dhulhijjah on Thursday, June 30, 2022; Arafah Day (the peak of Hajj season) on Friday, July 8, 2022, and Eid al-Adha (the sacrifice holy day) Saturday, July 9, 2022.
