Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A total of 15 investment projects in the upstream oil and gas sector worth 1.57 billion U.S. dollars were completed in 2021, Indonesia’s Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities has reported recently.

Throughout 2021, there were additional oil and gas production capacity from the fifteen projects that have been on stream.

The additional oil production was recorded at 18,468 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and additional gas production capacity of 746 billion cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

The completed upstream oil and gas projects include North Area Jindi South Jambi Block B, EOR Jirak Pertamina EP, SP Bambu Besar (Asso) Pertamina EP, and gas supply to Refinery V of Pertamina Hulu Mahakam.

The task force targets 12 large-scaled projects with an estimated investment of 1.35 billion dollars to be completed this year.

The 12 projects are estimated to provide an additional 19,000 BOPD of oil production capacity and an additional 568 MMSCFD of natural gas production capacity.
