KISUCI has recently announced its existence as a leading environment community which endeavors to preserve the Cikeas River, which flows from Bogor to the downstream in Bekasi also in West Java.
Bogor, West Java (Indonesia Window) – Bogor, a mountainous and hilly area in Indonesia’s West Java province, has a number of environment groups including Komunitas Iklim Sungai Cikeas known as KISUCI or the Cikeas River Climate Community.
KISUCI has recently announced its existence as a leading environment community which endeavors to preserve the Cikeas River, which flows from Bogor to the downstream in Bekasi also in West Java.
As a group committed to protecting the environment, KISUCI has involved people, built collaboration, and raised awareness of the importance of preserving the river ecosystem as a source of life, the initiator and chairman of Kisuci, Hayu Prabowo, told journalists in Bogor recently.
In recent years, the Cikeas River has faced serious issues, including pollution, habitat destruction and a decline in water quality, Hayu noted.
“To face this challenge, KISUCI has been active in organizing and implementing various activities to restore and maintain the sustainability of the river,” he added.
One of KISUCI’s main commitments is to build strong collaborations with various parties to empower local people, he said.
Through this approach, Kisuci has successfully organized tree planting, river cleaning, awareness campaigns, and environmental education programs to involve locals in river ecosystem restoration measures, Hayu explained.
“In an increasingly urgent situation of climate change and threats to the river ecosystem, we are committed to maintaining the sustainability of the Cikeas River through strong collaborations and raising awareness of the importance of preserving the river ecosystem,” he said.
“We invite all parties including local people, the government and the private sector, to jointly protect and preserve the Cikeas River for future generations,” he said.
KISUCI invites all interested parties to join, contribute, and collaborate in efforts to maintain and improve the sustainability of the Cikeas River.
“With strong collaborations and increased awareness, we can achieve significant results in maintaining and restoring the sustainability of the Cikeas River,” he concluded.
KISUCI is a group dedicated to maintaining the sustainability of the Cikeas River through collaborations, conservation activities, and increasing public awareness.
Through various programs and activities, this community aims to build a better understanding of the importance of protecting the river ecosystem through people empowerment in efforts to preserve the environment and control climate change.
The Bogor district administration has supported such an endeavor by engaging local people to preserve the environment including nature-based areas for tourist sites.
Among those local people are high school students including members of scouting organizations.
A tourism scout unit of a high school in Bogor was recently established in an effort to maintain and provide comforts for everyone who wants to visit tourist sites including nature-based ones.
Acting Bogor district head Iwan Setiawan welcomed the establishment of the tourism scout unit, saying that the unit is a form of local people’s participation in preserving the nature, especially in the nature-based tourist sites.
