Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – In order to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19, the Indonesian government is targeting two million doses for daily vaccination.

“Today, we are grateful that we can carry out mass vaccinations throughout the country. Today’s target is one million vaccines for all people, and we hope will continue to reach two million doses of vaccines in July and August,” said President Joko Widodo when observing the mass vaccination at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium here on Saturday morning.

The mass vaccination at the stadium targets at least 8,000 people.

So far, Indonesia has recorded nearly 2.1 million cases of coronavirus infection with 56,729 deaths.

On Saturday (June 26), the daily new cases in Indonesia reached the highest number of 21,095, since the pandemic hit the world’s fourth largest population country in March last year.
