Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – At least 450,000 health workers in Indonesia have received the third doses of COVID-19 vaccine shots, said Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

“Approximately 34 percent of human resources in the health sector have received the third injections,” said the minister in a virtual meeting with the House of Representatives here on Wednesday (Aug. 25).

According to him, Bali and Riau Islands were recorded as provinces with the most health workers received the third doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

In addition, in the last two weeks there has been an acceleration in increasing the coverage of the third doses of vaccination for health workers, Budi added.

He said that there were concerns in the early stages of the third doses of vaccination for health workers because the third vaccines were from different manufacturers.

However, he added, now the level of acceptance of the third doses of vaccination among health workers is much higher.
