Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – A Chinese vaccine company, Sinovac, is committed to suppling 143 million doses of vaccine for Indonesia.
“We already have a detailed procurement schedule with Sinovac for 143 million (doses), and it will cooperate with Bio Farma (the Indonesian national vaccine company),” Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said here on Monday (Oct 12).
In addition to cooperation with Sinovac, Indonesia has also collaborated in developing the COVID-19 vaccine with two other Chinese companies, namely Sinopharm and CanSino.
According to the coordinating minister, Sinopharm will supply 15 million COVID-19 vaccines for Indonesia this year, while CanSino agreed to provide about 100,000 doses by the end of December and other 15 million doses by 2021.
Currently, the Indonesian Minister of Health and the Minister of State-owned Enterprises are also in final negotiations with the multinational vaccine company headquartered in Cambridge (UK), AstraZeneca, to procure 100 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
