COVID-19 – Indonesia prepares vaccination road map

Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian government is preparing a vaccination roadmap following the issuance of Presidential Regulation Number 99 of 2020 concerning Vaccines Procurement and Vaccinations Implementation for Combating the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“The president asks for the completion of the vaccination roadmap this week,” Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said here on Monday (Oct 12).

He pointed out that the COVID-19 vaccination will be given to five target groups.

The first group involves 3.4 million people consisting of those who are standing at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic mitigation, including paramedics, military and police personnel, legal officers, and public services workers.

The second group comprises people, religious leaders, and local officials (sub-districts, villages, persons representing community administrations, with a total number of 5.6 million people.

The third group involves 4.3 million people consisting of educational workers from early childhood, kindergarten, elementary, junior high school, high school to higher educational and university levels.

The fourth group comprises government and administration apparatus (central, local and legislative members), with a total number of 2.3 million people.

The fifth group involves 86 million people consisting of national health care insurance (BPJS) recipients.
